Constant Criticism, Emotional Manipulation, and Gaslighting are Classic Signs of Narcissistic Abuse Portrayed Skilfully in ‘Doors of Deception’
Mt. Pleasant, Wisconsin, 5th April 2023, ZEXPRWIRE, After the success of his first book, ‘Now I Know Why I Was Chosen,’ author Maurice M. Jenkins has made a comeback with his latest novel ‘Doors of Deception’ which showcases the classic signs of narcissistic abuse using his epic storytelling skills. Following the story of James K. Jones, a successful and handsome businessman who has everything you can imagine, but what he doesn’t have is a partner he can share his life with. But that changes when he meets a woman, Ciara Williams, who captures his attention and has him falling head over heels.
While everything goes smoothly in the start, as he spends more time with Ciara, her behavior changes, showing signs of narcissistic abuse. But the worst part of it all is that James fails to realize that he is being abused, as is the case with most relationships where someone is going through something similar.
Constant criticism that belittles the victim, emotional manipulation to guilt-trip, and gaslighting are just some of the signs that depict such forms of abuse.
Throughout James’ story, Ciara continually shows all the red flags, including blame-shifting, controlling behavior, lack of empathy, stalking, and intimidation.
‘Doors of Deception’ is more than just any other story; it is an eye-opener for all the people out there that suffer from narcissistic abuse at the hands of their partners. Maurice Jenkins has attempted to spread awareness through this engaging and spell-binding read.
Although the signs are clear from the start, James is so blinded by the love he ignores what his gut tells him, which is a typical response from victims in such situations. But with the help of fictional characters set in a real-world setting, Maurice was able to portray just how the abuse occurs. It is not always easy for victims to identify these signs, often filling their heads with confusion and causing them to feel emotionally drained. But this narcissistic thriller is a skillful portrayal of abusive behavior that can easily manipulate the victim into thinking they are at fault. And by the time the realization hits, it is often too late.
